Workmanship Warranty Terms and Conditions

Warranty Activation: This warranty does not go into effect until the final payment has been made in full. The homeowner must remain in good standing by ensuring all payments are completed by the requested due date. Failure to make timely payments may result in the voiding of the warranty.

 

Transferability: The 10 Year Shield Protection Plan is transferable once to a subsequent homeowner. To complete the transfer, the original purchaser must notify our company within 30 days of the property sale and provide the new homeowner’s contact information. Failure to do so will void the warranty.

 

Free Tune-Up Inspections: This warranty includes a complimentary “Free Tune-Up Inspection” at the 5-year and 10-year marks. These inspections are designed to ensure the integrity and performance of your roof. To schedule these inspections, please contact us within 30 days of the 5-year and 10-year anniversaries of your roof installation. Missed inspections or failure to schedule within the specified time frame will result in forfeiture of this benefit.

 

Coverage Scope: The 10 Year Shield Protection Plan covers workmanship under normal use and conditions. It does not cover damage resulting from natural events (hail, wind, etc.), unauthorized modifications, improper maintenance, damage from pests, rodents, birds, or any wildlife activity, or misuse of the roof.

 

Notice Of Issues: If any damage, defect, or problem is discovered, the homeowner must notify Shield Roofing Services immediately or within seven (7) calendar days of discovery. Failure to provide timely notice may result in voiding of this warranty.

 

Claims Process: To file a claim under this warranty, the original purchaser or transferee must contact our customer service department. Our company reserves the right to inspect the roof and determine the validity of the claim.

 

Exclusions: This warranty does not cover any incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to, damages to the interior of the property or personal belongings. It also does not cover any repairs or replacements not performed by our company or an authorized representative.

 

Suspension of Warranty for Uncovered Issues: If any damage, defect, or problem is inspected and determined by Shield Roofing Services to not be covered under this warranty, the warranty shall be suspended or voided until the homeowner has all necessary repairs completed by Shield Roofing Services. Failure to complete such repairs through Shield Roofing may result in permanent voiding of this warranty.

 

Warranty Service and Trip Charges: This warranty applies solely to defects in workmanship and roof installation performed by the Contractor. In the event the Owner requests a warranty inspection or service visit and the condition reported is determined, at the Contractor’s sole discretion, not to be related to the Contractor’s workmanship or installation, a standard trip or service charge may apply. No trip or service charges will be assessed for repairs or services determined to be covered under this warranty.

 

Maintenance Requirements: Regular maintenance is required to keep this warranty valid. The roof must be maintained in accordance with our maintenance guidelines, which include keeping the roof clear of debris, ensuring proper drainage, and inspecting for and repairing minor damage promptly.

 

Limitations: This warranty is limited to the original cost of the roof replacement and does not include any upgrades or additional services that may be recommended or required.

 

Governing Law: This warranty is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which the property is located.

What does this warranty cover?
This warranty covers defects related to the workmanship and roof installation performed by the Contractor. Any repairs or service determined to be covered under this warranty are performed at no cost to the Owner.

 

What does this warranty not cover?
This warranty does not cover issues that are not directly related to the roof installation or workmanship performed by the Contractor. This may include, but is not limited to, problems caused by other building components, pre-existing conditions, normal wear and tear, weather-related events, third-party work or modifications, or non-roofing related sources of leaks or damage.

 

Will I be charged for a warranty inspection?
If an inspection or service visit confirms that the issue is covered under this warranty, there is no charge. If the inspection determines that the issue is not related to the Contractor’s workmanship or installation, a standard trip or service charge may apply.

 

Why is there a trip or service charge for non-warranty issues?
Trip or service charges help cover the cost of labor, travel, and time associated with evaluating reported issues that fall outside the scope of the warranty. This allows the Contractor to continue providing timely and effective service to all customers.

 

What are examples of issues that are typically not covered?
Examples may include leaks caused by plumbing, HVAC equipment, windows, siding, or stucco; interior condensation; clogged or damaged gutters; structural movement; damage caused by other contractors; or any condition unrelated to the roof installation itself.
